There’s nothing quite like a new, fresh notebook. Cracking open the cover to the very first page and seeing the crisp, clean paper ready for whatever thoughts or notes you want to write down. There are no crossed-out sections of writing in pen. No burns or scrapes on the paper from an ineffective eraser. No faint hints of old words, which are now only random marks that don’t quite make up a thought. Everything is brand new. A fresh start.
And who wouldn’t want a fresh start? To be able to wipe the slate clean of everything we’ve done that we’d rather forget. Unfortunately, we’re never quite able to get that kind of fresh start on our own. The hints of the things we’ve done wrong and the mistakes we’ve made along the way always seem to follow us. But with Jesus, a fresh start is possible. His blood has washed away all evidence of our sins and allows us to begin again, brand new. While we may still have consequences from those mistakes here on earth, our eternal life is free from our past. There are no leftover marks that show what we’ve done, or crossed out sins that are still able to be read. Instead, we’re able to stand before the Father as a new creation. Spend some time in prayer today, thanking Jesus for the gift of a new, eternal life.

About this Plan

A small shift can be enough to change your perspective. When we shift our perspective, we allow ourselves to see something in a whole new light. Many of us have a picture of what we want and expect Jesus Christ to be, but if we allow ourselves to shift our perspective, we can see a God who is so much more than we think.
