God heals, God comforts

We all have a variety of things we encounter throughout life. One of the most difficult things to overcome is losing someone you love, whether it is your mom, dad, friend, or family member. We as people here on earth are never prepared for such a complex moment because it comes with so many different things that we aren’t ready for even though we know death is a part of life.

In my 28 years of life, I’ve learned so much about loss. I’ve lost all of my grandparents, I lost my mother, aunts, uncles, and friends. Each one affected me in various ways. Some hurt more than others but knowing that the person was never coming back physically was the only thing that was the same. Sometimes I sit and have to shake my head because I know the only reason I was able to still have a steady head on my shoulders and persevere through the tough times was because of God.

So why am I telling you all this? In 2 Corinthians 1:4, it says God comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others and when one of us is in trouble we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.

Whoever is reading this I pray that you know God is with you. As your brother, I know and understand how it feels to lose someone who you deeply care about. You will get through whatever loss you may have experienced. Now It may take some time and the healing process may not happen as quickly as you would like, but know that God always heals. God got me through it and he will surely do the same for you.
