Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

DAY 364 OF 366

Looking Back

I was playing a computer game quite mindlessly, just going through the motions while my mind was elsewhere. Before I knew it, I was out of time, hadn’t completed the task and had to restart that level. When the game loaded again, I saw just how much work was to be done to actually clear the level. In my passivity, I hadn’t realized just how far I had gone the last time. But as I went back to the start, I knew how far ahead I was earlier.
Very often, our lives are like a game. In the humdrum of our daily life we forget to notice how far we have come. We do certain things mechanically, more out of habit than with intent and don’t even realize how they affect us. We get so caught up in surviving, that we forget where we came from and how much we have achieved in the process.
Throughout Exodus, we notice a pattern with the Israelites forgetting God’s goodness, and grumbling. That’s the human outlook towards life. Every time we meet with a new obstacle, we question God’s ability to get us past this one.
In spite of all that happened with the Israelites, God was still faithful. And if we look again at our lives, we will notice God’s favor and faithfulness. God is not just a God of the big and jaw-dropping miracles, but He is faithful even in the little things. He loves the details and works out everything in our favor.
Today, before you pray, take a moment to think back to where you started and see how far He has brought you. You may not have noticed it, but you’ve come a long way and the God who made you has greater things in store for you!

Prayer
God, I thank You for Your faithfulness that has kept me so far and that will carry me forever. Amen.

About this Plan

Precious Moments That Count For Eternity

It is our prayer that it will reveal to those who don’t know Jesus Christ, that there is a Creator and Maker of this universe, the only loving and powerful God who longs for a personal relationship with every human being. We pray that these daily readings will remind us all of the great hope and abundant joy in knowing Jesus Christ, through whom we have eternal life!
