Precious Moments That Count For Eternityਨਮੂਨਾ

Experience the Holy Spirit
While Jesus was with His disciples, they were well taken care of, as He was there to help them in and through every situation they faced. The time of His departure was soon approaching and Jesus here is assuring them that the Father was going to send them another Helper (the Holy Spirit), knowing that they would need someone to make it through.
This is true even for us today. We need the Holy Spirit, without whom we cannot and should never assume that we can make it on our own. How wonderful it is to know that He is with us always. We can ask for His help at any time. The Greek word used in this verse for ‘helper’ is ‘paraklétos’, meaning ‘called to one’s aid’ and can also mean advocate (pleads your case before God), comforter (encourages you when you are down), and counsellor (gives wisdom and helps in making decisions).
I have experienced the Holy Spirit in my life, literally, as my helper, whenever I have misplaced something or need to find some information. Instead of fretting and fuming and getting all worked up, all I need to do is ask Him, rest in Him, believe that He will help me and, sure enough, He impresses on my heart where to look, and what to do.
Have you experienced the Holy Spirit as your ‘paraklétos’? When He knows all things and even things to come, why would you not want His help? Don’t go another day being worried about your future or any major decisions in your life. When you need the Word to help you in making decisions, ask the Holy Spirit, for it is He who teaches you and brings all that Jesus said to remembrance. He is interested in the small and big issues in your life.
Prayer
Thank You Heavenly Father, for giving me Your precious Holy Spirit as my helper. Today and every day, Holy Spirit, I need Your wisdom, counsel and guidance. Please help me. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
