Seasons of Life: The DevotionalSample
Grow in Spiritual Maturity: A Season of Release
When you find yourself in a season of release, allow yourself to be set free from any condemnation, comparison, or any other limiting belief that tries to creep in. John 8:32 (TPT-The Passion Translation), reminds us when we embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into our lives.
Today, practice surrendering your cares to God. Learn to develop the habit of believing God’s truth in our situations. A way to allow this process to become second nature to you is learning how to R.E.S.T. (Psalm 119 AMP).
R.E.S.T. stands for:
- Reconnect with your source (God).
- Enhance your time in worship.
- Surrender to God’s will for your life.
- Trust the longevity of God's process for you.
Start by positioning yourself in contemplative prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). Then, read the following words aloud before God:
Prayer
Lord, thank you for the new measure of grace and mercy you extend to me each day. Through Christ, I’m reminded of the freedom I find in you. Over the last several days, you have helped me break free from strongholds that I allowed to define me for far too long. I ask that you continue to remind me of what it looks like walking Matthew 5:48 out in my life. Your word says, “[I] therefore will be perfect”. In the Amplified translation, I understand that perfect means growing in spiritual maturity both in mind and character, actively integrating godly values into my daily life.
Through this refining process, you are teaching me to become more like you, God. Thank you for the work that you were doing with me. Thank you for having gone before me to prepare for the way. God, I pray that you continue to reveal what you need me to see in this season of my life. Also, prepare me to make disciples of others. I thank you, God. I give you all the honor, glory, and praise. In Jesus’ mighty and powerful name, Amen.

About this Plan
Our life experiences have defined us for far too long. Instead, we can choose to acknowledge them, learn from them, and allow them to serve as stepping stones as we become the women God has predestined us to be. Author and educator, A. Margot Blair, invites us on a journey to find freedom in Christ, break free from strongholds, and grow in spiritual maturity.
