Maximizing the Meaning of ChristmasSample
Jesus Christ is the global God. He’s the peace giver to people all over the world with whom He is well pleased. And He’s the salvation of all peoples of the world.
We don’t exclude anybody from Christ’s Christmas offer of salvation. Christ’s salvation is for you. It doesn’t matter your background, lifestyle, or previous religious preference. Today He says, “I’ll give you peace. I’ll be your salvation.” If you’ve never trusted the Lord Jesus as your only God and Savior, you can today, in the quietness of your soul, wherever you are.
For those who are already believers in Christ, remember Jesus says, “I came for all peoples of the world.” Christmas and missions seamlessly relate. If you want to maximize the meaning of this Christmas season, refocus your heart and life on missions. God wants you to adjust and adapt to His larger purposes in coming to this world. Christmas is about His gift to all the peoples of the world. If you miss this, you will be trapped in a mysterious nostalgia, with a minimized version of the holiday.
Let these truths from God’s word change the focus and structure of your Christmas celebration.
Let them change your values, your perspective, your character, your generosity, and your selfishness. Don’t spend another Christmas season distracted by the trivial, but instead be intentional to dwell on the miraculous reality that God became man in order to bring peace and salvation to the world.
