DAY 4 OF 5

God’s Message Goes Everywhere

(It would be beneficial to read the Scriptures before beginning each day.)

Today we explore a little of Acts 16. We see that sometimes a regular sharing of the gospel can turn people toward Jesus, and other times it isn’t until God puts us in a tough spot and works a miracle that we see people get the message of Jesus. We have talked about Jesus all week, and today is no exception. Like Paul, Peter, and Silas, Jesus is our message as we share the gospel. We like to explain it like this:

There is a God, and He is good. Unfortunately, there is a problem: sin and the fact that we choose sinful things. That sin separates us from the God who loves us and wants what's best for us. The good news is that there is a solution to this problem, and his name is Jesus! He came, lived a perfect life, died as a sacrifice for our sins, and rose again, proving he is who he says he is and that we can trust in him. Our response is to surrender our lives, to live them in such a way that we bring glory to God and try to be more like Jesus.

This is the truth that Lydia and the jailor experienced in our story today. Use the following questions to guide the conversation about the Gospel further.

What is The Gospel?

How would you define sin?

What does it mean that Jesus is our hope?

What does it mean to surrender our lives?

Who can you share the gospel with today? Are you willing to be a messenger?

About this Plan

Messengers

More so than at any other time in history, it is easy to get a message to someone. We can pick up a phone, and a few taps later, someone can know where we are, see a picture of us, or know what we want for dinner! Only the most important messages stand the test of time.
