A Servant's HeartSample

A Servant's Heart

DAY 7 OF 7

“Then he [Jesus] said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’” (Matthew 9:37-38)

Jesus had compassion towards the crowds. They were like sheep without a shepherd, but at the same time He was heartbroken because there were hardly any workers to bring in the harvest.

As disciples and believers in Christ and of the most High God, we are called to go out and make disciples and show them how to disciple others. In doing this we are serving the Lord. We are not called to sit back and just wait and watch others.

We could go out on a mission trip to bring people into the Kingdom and teach others how to walk with Christ. Or we might just get to know our neighbors where we live, and show them the way to find freedom in Jesus. We don’t necessarily have to journey across the world, because the Lord also brings the mission field right into our own homes, neighborhoods and workplaces. This is what bringing in the harvest means, but we must be a willing vessel and serve where the Lord tells us to, acting on His call to share our faith.

Join us in praying: Father, teach us Your way, show us more of Your heart. We want to be more compassionate, break our hearts for what breaks Yours. You gave us a commandment to go and make disciples. May we be the laborers, obedient to go out in Your name to bring in the harvest, to help others see the light and become disciples as well, and in turn go out and do the same in Your name. Thank You for going before us and enabling us to accomplish Your will. We give You all the glory, for You are magnificent!

Day 6

About this Plan

A Servant's Heart

In our world where it is so easy to be served, the call of Jesus tells us to rather BE the servants. The key is to keep looking up, keep seeking to please our Lord. Join us as we talk about several scriptures on servanthood, and be blessed in running the race to obtain the prize, to glorify the Lord.
