DAY 2 OF 3

How to Use the Powerful Tool of Prayer Walking

Prayer Walking is one of the most effective and valuable tools we have found for committing neighbors to God’s power and purposes. "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns" (Isaiah 52:7 NLT).

What IS Prayer Walking? Do you have to walk?

Prayer Walking is a term that represents moving through your areas of influence and praying for those in that vicinity. While you walk, run, bike, hike, drive, … lift the people around you to Christ. Think about the possibilities to pray for others as you navigate the streets of your neighborhood, the corridors, and rooms of your workplace, the soccer field, or pace halls of your school.

Plan to begin prayer walking on a regular basis.

As you walk:

Pray for people by name when possible, asking God to give you opportunities to serve, give, and build relationships with those individuals. Prayerfully follow through and be available. Create margin in your calendar.

Pray for God’s blessings and protection on each home, family, co-worker, player, student, classmate, and friend.

Pray that God would open hearts and create a hunger to know Him.

Pray for homes that are for sale, empty cubicles, and vacant lots:

a. Remove and keep out all evil.

b. Move in those hungry to know Christ.

c. Move in and raise up believers.
