The Shift: Becoming a Woman Who Moves When God MovesSample
As God shifts you, there is nothing that can come against, stop, or slow your blessing - nothing except your own words. I've created videos for these ten days with countless comments from women in our group who acknowledge the freedom and joy they gained when they realized how important it was to begin aligning their words with God’s words intentionally. The SHIFT is much easier when your words about your view match God’s words.
It can be tempting to complain or withhold positivity when you’ve been in your process for a while, especially if that process has tested you. Today, know that you can have joy in the test because it is absolutely producing exactly what you need to handle the abundance of the shift you’re walking into!
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12
A great Biblical example we can learn from is Abigail, both beautiful and wise and married to Nabal, a man whose name meant “fool.” In ancient Israel, a person’s character was often connected to their name. We don’t know how Nabal got this name, but he definitely lived up to it. After Nabal made a foolish statement to David, Abigail wisely spoke to David to save her family from destruction at David's hands. After Nabal died, David—whose name means “love”— married Abigail. Abigail shifted from a foolish situation to a loving one through the wise use of her words.
Abigail was a beautiful woman trapped in a foolish situation out of her control. Still, despite how foolish her situation looked, she decided to speak what God was directing her to speak.
Abigail teaches us the power of our words through three wise steps:
#1: Listen well. Abigail had developed a reputation as a good listener. Her servants knew they could come to her and trust her with sensitive information. 1 Samuel 25:14-17
#2: Act wisely. When Abigail learned how Nabal had insulted David, she didn’t dishonor her husband by complaining about him; instead, she went to David with an offering of kindness. 1 Samuel 25:18-19
#3: Respond, don’t react. Abigail knew she was in a foolish situation, but she kept calm under pressure and responded instead of reacting. 1 Samuel 25:23-24
The next step in becoming a woman who moves when God moves is learning how to respond to the view you see in front of you, using your words in alignment with God’s words, no matter what your view looks like.
Today’s Affirmation:
Your words are forming wisely, and you feel patience when you respond. You know what is necessary to say and what is not. At this moment, you can feel how pleased God is that you are honoring Him with your words. This wisdom is hidden in your heart, and you bring glory to your Father’s name as your words about everything begin to align more and more with His. You are a wise woman.
Daily Question of the Day:
What area of your life can you begin speaking differently about today?
