Enforcing You: Standing on the Promises of GodSample
“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 3:18
When you look into a mirror, you see your reflection and understand who you are and what you “look like.” The whole purpose of the mirror is to reveal what you otherwise would not be able to see and discover more about your countenance. So, it is with you and I and our creation in Christ. We are designed to be the mirror that reflects the image of God to those around us. Our lives are meant to reveal what others might not see except by looking into our faces and our lives—what a beautiful image of the potential we have of reflecting the image and likeness of God.
Moreover, unlike Moses, we do not have to be concerned with the glory of the Lord fading from our faces. Instead, we can expect that the glory will grow brighter each day, from glory to glory. It thrills me to think that I am not only created to reveal the person of God here on earth but that I am created to grow and increase that identity.
So, what does this mean for you? When you wake up tomorrow, you can expect to look a little more like Jesus. And when you go to bed tomorrow night, you can expect to look a little more like Jesus! It means that the glory of God, His character, and His fullness is designed to grow within you and that your “glory potential” is continuously on the increase.
Let’s declare that TODAY, God’s countenance will grow within us and that our faces will reflect the love of God. Take a moment and look at yourself in the mirror, AND SMILE as you declare this. “God, I declare that Your glory is upon me and that I AM the mirror that reflects your face. I receive the increase of your likeness and declare that TODAY I will grow more like you.”
