Integral D-Tox, Prepared for HimSample
Soul D-tox
The soul is the place of our emotions, feelings, and will. What symptoms does a person with an intoxicated soul exhibit?
• Uncontrolled reactions of anger, perhaps even a bad attitude towards others (malapert, disrespectful, brash, etc.)
• Discouragement
• Sadness, depression
• Anxiety
• Fears
• Boredom, lack of purpose
• Lacking passion for doing things
• Soul exhaustion
God used the prophet Isaiah to encourage the people of Israel to insist on doing the right thing but in the wrong way. They knew the commandments by heart, but they didn’t put them into practice. Jesus used the exact text to rebuke the hypocritical religious of his generation because they cared about appearance, but inside they weren’t magnifying God. Today something similar happens, many people read the Bible, which is correct, but they don’t want to listen to God. Many people pray, but they do it out of habit, not because they want to talk to God. Many people sing, but they don’t do it to give pleasure to the Father. This is why God is more interested in our being than our doing, and we must connect with Him in the same way.
Jesus came to heal those with broken souls. He longs to heal us, and we must genuinely recognize our situation and accept that He desires a healthy soul for us. He will work on it if we allow it.
SELAH: Repeat the steps we suggested on day 4 and then present your soul to the Lord, confess the emotional area where you feel intoxicated and ask Him to detoxify you. Take time to listen to him. Take note of everything He speaks to you. During the next week, meditate and pray on it.
About this Plan
We long for the Second Coming of Christ! The Scriptures tell us about the Church as a bride expecting the arrival of her Bridegroom, focused on His coming. A bride prepares for the great day of her wedding. In this plan, we will see how to prepare to be the delight of the Beloved, taking time to decontaminate and detoxify ourselves from what takes us away from Him.
