Seven Effective Prayers for Unsaved HusbandsSample
“The eyes of the Lord are toward the [uncompromisingly] righteous and His ears are open to their cry. The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles. The Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent.” (Psalm 34:15-18 AMPC)
The unfortunate truth is that most people have experienced at least one traumatic event in their lifetime. Many others have experienced complex trauma. This is when you are exposed to multiple traumatic events throughout childhood. Both isolated and complex traumatic experiences can have a major impact on one’s life. They can cause long-term effects into adulthood and in romantic relationships. These experiences in childhood are considered adverse, and they can lead to health and other issues concerning behavior.
Many times, when you are praying for your husband, it is helpful to know what you are praying for and what you are praying against. It is important that you are aware of these things so that your prayers are accurate and impactful. You will need to know if the issues your husband is facing are derived from his childhood or adulthood. You need to know if the issue is spiritual, natural, or both. You need to know which scriptures to apply and if you need to fast and pray versus just praying (Matthew 14:21). You need to know and understand the prayer of faith and pray with authority and power. Matthew 14:20-21 lets us know that we only need to possess a mustard seed of faith to move mountains in our lives and marriage. It may be impossible for you, but nothing is impossible for God.
Prayer for your husband to be healed from past trauma:
Father in the name of Jesus, I pray the prayer of faith concerning my husband’s past trauma. What he experienced in his childhood/adulthood was unfortunate and unfair. However, I know that all things work together for our good because we love you and are called according to your purpose. Lord, I know that my husband wants to love me as Christ loves the church and gave himself for her, but he is fighting against a force bigger than himself. I pray that you heal every hurt and tend to every wound that he has been carrying around all his life. Lord, show him that you are Jehovah Tsidkenu, his righteousness. You promised to never leave or forsake him. Even if those that were supposed to love and care for him left him along feeling rejected, unloved, and unwanted, you never left his side. God, I pray that he can experience your bountiful love, be healed from his past, and be elevated into the man you have chosen him to be since the beginning. Before you formed him in the womb of his mother, you knew him; before he was born, you set him apart; you appointed him as a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5). In Jesus' name, Amen.

God designed husbands to be the lead servants of their homes/marriages. He is to lead his wife and children in the same manner that Christ led the church. When husbands do not know God as their Lord and Savior, they cannot lead by Christ's example. This devotional will provide seven effective prayers wives can pray for their unsaved husbands so that they may come into the knowledge of God's truth.
