Motherhood

DAY 1 OF 3

The wife’s 'godline'

Littre, a great French scholar, was well educated in human wisdom. Unfortunately, he didn't care about God. It was fortunate for his daughter that Littre's wife was a devout Christian.

The scientist told his wife: “Take care of your daughter in the teachings of your religion which you have always followed. When your daughter is 15 years old, bring her to see me. I will then explain my views to her, and she will be able to choose for herself.”

The mother accepted the terms. The years passed, and the 15th birthday came. The wife entered her husband's study room and said, "Do you remember what you said to me and what I promised you? Your daughter turns 15 today. She is now ready to listen to you with all the respect and confidence her father deserves. Can I bring her in?”

“Why, of course!” replied Littre. “But for what special reason? To explain to her my views? Oh, no, my dear, no. You have made our daughter a good, loving, simple, intelligent, and happy child. My ideas are good for me. Who said that these ideas would be good for our daughter too? Who says these ideas won't destroy or, at the very least, ruin your work? Let her in, so that I may bless you before her for all that you have done for her, that she may love you even more.”

A perfect wife does not expect a perfect husband.

Proverbs 18:22

"He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord”

Reflection:

Building a household or a family means that you are building a team. Each team member has strengths and weaknesses, and each has a role to play and complement each other. They need appreciation! What kind of appreciation have you given your team members?

Day 2

About this Plan

Motherhood

One of the most important tasks of a mother is to nurture and raise her children. A mother's love, which is always available and shared with children, will make children feel safe and loved by their parents. This reflection will strengthen mothers to fulfill their calling- in order to see that their children grow in love, in knowledge, and in respect for the Lord.
