Fervent: Fight Fear With Faith Sample
It is so easy to forget that the Lord is walking with us on this road. So many times, the situation, the people, the fear, and the uncertainty cloud our vision, causing us to question God and doubt His presence. But this verse reminds us of God’s faithfulness, especially when we don’t see or feel it. There will always be wilderness seasons in our lives. The Lord never promises us a life without them. But in those wilderness experiences, He promises to carry us like “a father carries his son”. I tried to imagine what that might look like and saw my husband carrying my 15-month-old boy. My son didn’t even seem to realize he was being carried. He was just playing with his fingers, looking around from this height, and pleased to be with his father. My husband, on the other hand, was holding him close so he wouldn’t wriggle and fall, was cuddling him, and never took his arms away from around him. And that is the promise for each of us today. Our Heavenly Father is carrying us—you and me—in His strong, protective arms. So though we are in a wilderness, remember, we are being held close to the Father’s heart.
Pray for:
• A deep assurance of God’s faithfulness in the midst of our current “wilderness”.
• Our hearts to be comforted by the truth of God’s constant fatherly love for each of us.
• Peace to fill our hearts and minds dispelling the anxiety and confusion.
