Hope with Patience

The words ‘hope’ and ‘patience’ stand out in these verses. Especially in the difficult and challenging times, we’re living in, hope is something important for us to press into both individually and as a society. 

Our salvation gives us hope and plays a powerful role during dark times. As Christians, our hope is in God's promises to us. I remember once hearing that patience is waiting without complaining.  We already know our future glory is with God in heaven. Paul describes Christians as people who wait patiently, for we do not walk by sight we walk by faith. It’s not always easy, but we can trust that our Father will bring about everything at the right time because his timing is perfect.

Not only that, he works all things for our good. Whilst we wait patiently, it is important to understand the reason behind our waiting so we don't lose hope. We trust that the Lord’s plans for us are good. Hope is necessary for life, hope with patience will keep us focused in the midst of difficulties.

Today it is my prayer that you rejoice in the hope to which you were called. May you experience the peace that only God can bring, be blessed, filled with joy of the spirit, and continue to rejoice in hope. Be patient in tribulations and constant in prayer, in the mighty name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.
