Fear - SE StudentsSample
Fear can be so overwhelming sometimes that it is almost debilitating. It can feel like God is not listening, and it can feel like nobody else in the world understands us. It may be difficult for the people closest to us to understand our fear, and that can make us feel alone. Our minds can play tricks on us, and we start to believe that our fear has power over us.
We have an enemy who wants to use our fears to hold us down, destroy us, and make us fall. But here is the good news: he does not win the battle! We already know that God is victorious over our enemy, the devil, who seeks to deceive us through our fear. Satan will lie to us and tell us that our fear cannot be conquered, but we have a truth that is stronger than his lies. This is why David asked the Lord to teach him in Psalm 27:11. Instead of believing Satan’s lies, David wanted to hear from God.
When we find ourselves in the midst of Satan’s lies—believing that we are alone, nobody understands, and that our fear cannot be defeated—we have to fight back with the truth. Are you filling your mind with the truth of God’s Word? Or are you believing the lies that the enemy is telling you through your fear? Spend some time reading the Philippians passage below and fill your mind with things that are true and good.
