90 Days to Wholeness: A Porn Addiction Recovery Devotional for WomenSample
Just like our confession step, the sharing step also comes with some risk. Coming clean about where we’ve been may not always be met with positive feedback or understanding. While being vulnerable is a beautiful thing, vulnerability means exposure and the potential for being hurt. But that is the risk we take in being vulnerable and it is one that is worth taking.
Once again we have to let go of fear in order to move forward. We know now that sharing or even confessing our past isn’t about describing every single detail to every single person, but is about coming clean about what has kept us trapped—particularly to those who need to hear it (friends, our spouse, etc.) and to those who may benefit from knowing it (other addicts).
What are you still afraid of? What do you still need to let go of in order to be vulnerable in sharing your story with those who need to hear it?
