Money and the Bible | Personal Finances From the Perspective of God

DAY 2 OF 10

PURPOSE AND WORK

From the moment we understand the need to change the financial mindset, achieving freedom and financial independence requires a few steps. Indeed the first is to realize that we were made for a purpose. We are not a matter of chance; we are God's plan. Even before we were in our mothers' womb, He already had a dream, a purpose for our existence.

It's much easier to be financially successful when you do what is within your life'spurpose. Maybe you wonder how to identify your purpose? I want to teach you three signs that help you be sure if you're in that way. First, "are you good at what you do?" And not in the sense of pride, but I believe when God created us to a purpose, He gave us gifts, skills, and abilities to fulfill this call - so the first step is to identify where you have more facility to perform your activities. The second is, "do you love what you do?" I don't see a God who's our perfect Father raising us for something we're going to hate. We have to love and do what we like; this is a sign that is within what God wants for your life. Finally, "do people recognize this gift in you?" From the moment people begin to identify these gifts, ease, and love for what you do, there is a high probability that you are within your life purpose.

Not always, but often, your work is connected to your purpose. Being light in that place and expressing the image of Christ in the way we work makes me believe that we often have our work as a ministry.

When we talk about money, I believe that God will use His work to give you abundance and fulfill the desires of your heart. Therefore, we need to have the habit of being Jesus in our job, to the point where people want to follow Him by the fruits seen in our lives.

Being Jesus means doing everything with excellence, such as gratitude to God, loving and thinking about the project's cause, and not complaining about our jobs. Instead of spending energy complaining about employment, it is preferable to channel it into seeking a job that brings more incentives. We have to take off the limited vision of working for the money - money is a consequence of its delivery, but it should never be the end. Don't just think about the job; you can be light in this place that God has put you. People who work for payment believe they are never being recognized enough. Those who think about profit seek new projects, gains, and new income sources and work that has been well done.

Therefore, work is much more than occupation, routine, individual progress, and money-making. It is an opportunity to express God's love to the people around us and serve them diligently.

Do not forget that we should pray as if everything depended on God, and we should act and work as if everything depended on us.

APPLICATION

Answer these three questions and try to identify your purpose: are you good at what you do? Do you love what you do? Do people recognize that gift in you?

Now analyze how intentional it has been in your work. Do people see Jesus in your attitudes? Have you made disciples of Jesus through the fruits of His labor?

About this Plan

Money and the Bible | Personal Finances From the Perspective of God

Often, the concept and application we have about finance are based on the circumstances and environment we live in, added to our beliefs, culture, and education about money. However, this view may be wrong; not even all certitude is truth. Our flesh perspective is different from God's. Knowing the way God sees finances often requires a change in the financial mindset.
