Holy Spirit, I need your discernment. Equip me to fight any spiritual battle I may be in.

Elijah has been in an overt spiritual battle against the prophets of Baal and the idolatrous culture promoted by Jezebel. Many of us work with little conscious awareness of the spiritual dimension – we can view a difficult boss, project delays, exhaustion, and workaholism as things we just have to put up within some organisations. Yet Paul, in Ephesians 6:12, tells us that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities. We need discernment, and for that, we will need to stop and listen to the Spirit.
