Dealing With FeelingSample
When I’m glad, I’ll praise God out loud.
Sometimes everyone feels GLAD—happy, excited, thankful, delighted, or surprised! If you’re happy and you know it, God wants us to show it. Joy is contagious. We can help others overcome negative emotions by sharing our gladness with them.
When we praise God, we're showing we know God is the reason for the gladness we're feeling. When we feel glad, the right thing to do is to praise God. This can mean smiling calmly and quietly feeling happy. It can mean shouting and dancing. It can be any way we demonstrate joyful feelings.
Praising God is like glowing in the dark. Not only is it fun to do, it brings light and joy to others too. Say this out loud, “When I'm glad, I'll praise God out loud.”

About this Plan
What do I do when I feel mad, sad, bad, or glad? God made us with emotions. The Bible shows us God has emotions, too. Emotions aren’t bad, but they can often lead us to make sinful, selfish choices. Since emotions are common ground we share with God, they're a way we can get closer to Him and learn more about Him. This family plan with supporting videos can help kids learn what the Bible has to say about dealing with our feelings.
