… spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another… - Heb 10:19-25
In this portion of the book of Hebrews, we learn about Christ's sacrifice and also our response and calling – as worshippers. Christianity is very much a ‘community’ religion − it is not meant to be a religion that you practice on your own. Yes, our relationship with God should be on a one-to-one basis, but the practicing of our faith can only happen in a community. We are encouraged to spur one another toward love by meeting together. Worshipping together regularly is about all of us meeting together and learning from each other – not just what we 'get' from God.
‘There’s an element of worship and Christianity that cannot be experienced in private worship or by watching worship. There are some graces and blessings that God gives only in the ‘meeting together’ with other believers.’ - Don Whitney
As Christians, we are challenged to love one another, constantly encouraging each other to be examples of Christ in this sad, dark world. Just imagine what a difference we, as a minority, can make if we stand together in spite of our many differences. What a statement that would make! Sometimes we feel like our community only involves like-minded Christians, people whom we get along with and who understand us, our culture and our traditions. However, the community the Bible talks about is very purposeful. It is a decision to get along with others – even those we don't like – and to show God's agape love to them, in spite of our many flaws and weaknesses. We trust in God to make us one – it is not our own doing – therefore, we boldly move toward His will and purpose in our lives together.
Day 7 Challenge: Find Christians in your community or workplace that you can love. You may not get along with them well, or their culture might be totally different from yours. But make a decision to love them. Find ways to connect, to depend on each other, so that God's love would flow through you to the world around you.
Father, help me to connect with others and spur them on toward love and good deeds. Amen

About this Plan
God didn’t build a Church and place man there to worship Him – instead, He created a garden, and put man there to work in it. Imagine if we could see our workplace through God’s ‘glasses’? Imagine how God can then use us in the workplace! Take up these 7 challenges with Zippora and see your workplace change into a worship place.
