Speak to Your Mountain

DAY 4 OF 7

  Speak to Your Books

My first book, TGIF: Today God Is First, was published in 2000. Because I was a new author, the publisher required me to agree to purchase one thousand copies of the book. The internet was really just getting going at that time, and my ministry was beginning to grow. However, I was not selling many books in the beginning. In fact, I was not selling more than three or four copies a week.

I felt burdened because I was not selling more books. One Saturday morning, I awakened and had a strange instruction I believe was from the Lord. What I heard in my spirit was, Go down to your basement and speak to your mountain of books and tell them to leave. What a strange word. It brought back to mind what Gunnar Olson did with his plastic bags years earlier. He decreed that his broken bags would be unsealed. And they were!

I went downstairs and laid my hands on my mountain of boxes of books and said in a firm voice, “In the name of Jesus, I command you to get out of this basement and go be a blessing to someone who can use these books!” I must admit I felt a bit foolish.

Later that day around 2 p.m., I received a phone call. My office was closed, but since I operated from my home, I was there. A ministry in Dallas, Texas, called and said they would like to order three hundred copies of my book. It was a $3000 order!

I was shocked and rejoiced in how God led me to decree a thing and it actually happened the same day. What a boost to my faith!

DECREES

I decree that:

1. When I plant seed in the ground, God will bless that seed and cause it to multiply and prosper.

2. God will open his good treasure to me, give rain to my land, and prosper the work of my hands.

3. I shall lend to many nations and not borrow.

4. I shall open new markets that were previously devastated.

5. I shall create wealth to fulfill God’s covenant promise to me.

6. I will prosper in all things and be in health.

7. I will be generous because those who water others shall be watered themselves.

8. I will multiply what is already in my hand.

9. I will receive downloads of witty inventions that will solve problems.

10. I will achieve through God’s power above and beyond what I can imagine or think.

Decrees based on the following Scriptures: Psalm 107:37–38; Deuteronomy 28:12; Isaiah 61:4; Deuteronomy 8:18; 3 John 2; Proverbs 11:25; 2 Kings 4:2; Proverbs 8:12; Ephesians 3:20; Ephesians 2:10

Activation

Every business has a product or service it must sell. There are often times when sales become stagnate—a recession, a product malfunction, or a change in the market could affect sales. For many reasons, we might experience a lack of resources due to outside circumstances. God’s economy is never without a solution to these times. It is up to us to seek God’s solution for any downturn. God is always looking to demonstrate his power in difficult circumstances. There is no problem for which God does not already have the solution. He is looking for us to partner with him in that solution. Today tell God about the circumstance that needs his power demonstrated. Do you need more sales? Do you need to motivate your team? Do you need another income source? God said, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally” (James 1:5 NKJV).

About this Plan

Speak to Your Mountain

This 7-day Bible study is adapted from my devotional book, 31 Decrees of Blessing for Your Work Life. We will examine the various circumstances in scripture and real-life stories of application of these verses to your daily work life. In this study I’ll share stories of those who are living out the scripture and how you can apply it in your life daily.
