Hope & Fear

To those that studied the ancient scriptures, the birth of Christ evoked hope but also fear in the hearts of many. For it was His birth that forever changed our world. Wise men, from the East, came in hope-filled awe to worship the true king of Israel. Yet, King Herod, after hearing the birth of a new king, was filled with fear, jealously, and intimidation. 

"Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men."

From the Old Testament to the manifested Word made flesh in the New Testament, the hope of all humankind had been attacked. However, hope attacked doesn’t mean hope lost.

During this holiday season, let us hold tightly the hope we have been given in and through Christ Jesus, the Messiah. 

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Hebrews 10:23

Final Thought

No matter how bleak or dark the world may seem, in you dwells the hope of all the world! You carry a light that attracts those called to share that light. The hope that is placed in you was not in vain but for a greater purpose.
