A WARNING
Therefore, let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he falls (1 Corinthians 10:12).
All residents and visitors of a building received a warning from the management about a fire in the kitchen of one of its restaurants. This warning was for the safety of everyone in the building. Can we imagine what could happen if there was no warning from the building management nor readiness or call to the fire brigade?
What is a warning? It is not a punishment or judgment, but a sign used to save or prevent one from dangerous consequences that can harm us either now or in the future. All good parents give a lot of advice or words that build and motivate their children. Also, they warn their children if they are about to fall or make a mistake.
Our God in Heaven is a good Father. He provides all the best things for His children, both physical and spiritual blessings. Our heavenly Father watches over our every step. He gives us warnings and reprimands us when we are about to do the wrong thing or have done something wrong. He does this because of His love and care for us.
When we pay close attention to each of God's warning or rebuke, we will realize the wrong things we do and repent. Do not think that you are stable and secure when, in fact, you are already on the brink. What happens when God rebukes and warns us? It is the moment when our hearts are being broken. The Holy Spirit searches our hearts because there are things such as reconciliation, humility, repentance that need fixing in our lives.
Give your hearts to God, and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you.
