A Jolt of Joy

DAY 15 OF 31

Jehoshaphat made 2 very wise choices in this passage of scripture. We need to observe the choices of this young ruler's life so that we, too, can win every battle in which the enemy places us. First of all, Jehoshaphat sought help from the Lord! He didn't go to his best friend ... google what Oprah had to say about it ... he didn't put a post on Facebook about what he was going through ... or buy the New York Times. Jehoshaphat went to the Lord when he was facing an enemy and so should you! How do we do this? We go to the Word of God with our battles. If your battle is depression, then see what the Bible has to say about depression and about joy. If you are in a physical battle with a disease, look in a concordance and then read all of the verses about healing and prayer that you can find. If you are facing enormous debt, see what the Bible says about provision, giving and tithing. The second incredibly wise choice that King Jehoshaphat made was that he stayed in the house of the Lord. Do not allow your battles to take you out of church or away from the fellowship of God's people! So many Christians quit going to church when they are depressed, stressed out or sick. You need to be in God's house in order for you to fight your battles God's way! If your heart's desire is to be a Christian who is filled with the power of heaven's joy, then you will model your life after the example of Jehoshaphat and you will go the Word of God for your answers. You will also, like Jehoshaphat, enjoy the presence of God which is found in the House of God.
