How Much Is Enough?

DAY 6 OF 6

How Much Can I Give?

So, here you are. The last day of your Bible Plan all about generosity. What is the most important thing to remember from this Bible Plan? It’s probably this.

Do you want to be rich? Well, the more you give, the more rich you become.

Remember that your attitude toward your money and things is super important. Do you think you deserve it all? Do you think you need to hoard and collect more and more to be happy? Then it’s time for an attitude check.

Are you feeling generous? Is your first thought when you see someone in need, “What can I give?” Do you believe that everything you have came from God anyway? Well, then you’re doing great! You’re living with the generous mind of Jesus!

Today, you’re going to read 1 Timothy 6:18-19 again. These verses are from when the Apostle Paul wrote to someone he mentored—named (you guessed it!) Timothy. He was giving Timothy advice on what to teach the people at his church. And it’s just the very best advice for everyone today, too.

Watch this verse song video as many times as you’d like. Maybe you can even memorize it! That would be one of the best ways for you to learn how to handle your money and posessions for the rest of your life. (Reminder: This is taken from the NLT version of the Bible.)

Ask yourself: When is it sometimes hard for me to be rich in good works and generous to those in need?

Challenge yourself: Write out 1 Timothy 6:18-19 in your best writing. Decorate it with images of being generous to those in need. Hang it somewhere you’ll be able to see it every day.

Pray: God, thank You for teaching me that my life isn’t all about me. It’s about You. It’s about helping Your people. It’s about being generous the way You’re generous. Thank You for everything. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Day 5

About this Plan

How Much Is Enough?

Do you ever want just a little bit more? More sneakers. More skateboards. More candy. More games. Whatever it may be that you love, you just want more! This Bible Plan will help you learn to say a thankful “enough,” and help you see that when you live like Jesus, you can find more happiness in asking “How much can I give?” instead of “How much more can I get?”
