The Nature Of The PropheticSample
Sincere
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17)
Sincerity is a greatly appealing character quality. A person of sincere heart naturally attracts others to their straightforward and unaffected nature. Sincerity represents congruence: the equity between that which we profess and believe, and that by which we live.
A sincere and genuine person is motivated by their internal beliefs, rather than external expectations. They are solid in their convictions, and a prophetic person has these convictions based firmly on the Word of God.
To truly carry the nature of the prophetic is to be genuine, free from pretence. A prophetic person with godly character has no guile or hidden agendas, no masks or deceit. When others meet prophetic people who are sincere, what you see is what you get.
Sincerity in the prophetic doesn’t misrepresent God or His truth. Prophetic people who are sincere can be trusted by those in the church and in the world. In the context of using spiritual gifts, we speak only what we know Holy Spirit has revealed to us. Prophetic people do not attempt to make something appear true when it is not so. We don’t hide facts: when we know something in the natural, we don’t pretend it was revealed by supernatural means. We are upright and honest in what we say. We speak the truth, and we have integrity. This kind of sincerity establishes credibility in the prophetic.

About this Plan
What does it mean to be prophetic? How do we recognise the voice of the Holy Spirit and communicate Him effectively to others? Take time aside to grow in wisdom, develop your spiritual gifts, and learn about the essential qualities you need to live a prophetic life. This 10-day devotional plan is based on James 3:17 from the book, The Nature of the Prophetic, by Sally McCracken.
