DAY TWO: Release to Receive
"If you give, it will be given to you. And I have found that generous people are blessed people." - Greg Laurie.
Sometimes you have to give for God to give to you. What is blocking you from truly being generous? Maybe you want to be a better giver, but you believe you are unable to.
Are you struggling with your finances? Sometimes God wants to see if you will give even if it is not enough so He can give you more than enough. What do I mean by that? Giving when you already do not have enough to pay a bill, start a business, etc. Sometimes you must sow to receive what you need from God. It is about faith, not money. Releasing your money is showing God that you trust Him. If you release what you have, God will give you more.
You do not have to pay tithes, give an offering, or pay money to a church to have more money. As a Pastor, I am honestly telling you that you do not have to give money to a church to get more money. That is why there are people who do not go to church or pay tithe that makes millions of dollars. If you want more money, you can get a better job, better education, excel at your current job, strip for a living, or rob a bank. I am not endorsing the latter, but I am stating that you can do all types of things to get more money.
However, there is a difference between making more money and being a giver, and also having money and being blessed. You tithe, sow and give because you want to be blessed. And to be blessed is to have God’s favor, which can open doors for you that nothing else can. Money cannot buy love or friends, neither can it bring God’s favor. My point is as you learn to let go, God will bless you. God is pleased when you give, and as you give, He will provide you with more.
Daily Reflection
What is holding you back from being generous today? What do you need to release? Perhaps you need to let go of clothes from your closet, or maybe you need to release love, anger, money, etc. Whatever it is, release it so you can have room to receive.
Scriptures for the day:
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! - 2 Corinthians 5:17
Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. – Luke 6:38
Prayer:
Lord, I surrender my problems, issues, and burdens to you today. I thank you that as I freely release things. I do not have to worry because you are my sustainer, provider, and supplier of all of my needs. I trust you. Amen.
