Raising children can be tough. Wait a minute. Can be? Let me start over. Raising children is a wild adventure that you were not ready for, that nobody can plan for, but can give you some of the best gifts you have ever imagined. Children are a blessing from God. Although it is tough to view children in this light when you are in the middle of the grind, the Bible says that children are a reward.

Solomon, the wisest man of all time, compares children to arrows in the hands of a warrior. Fathers, mothers, mentors, babysitters, uncles, aunts, grandparents, godparents, little league coach, please hear me. The children you lead are your arrows, and you are the warrior. But arrows are useless unless the warrior uses them correctly. Arrows need to be shot the right way. Arrows need to have a target to hit, or they just become something cool flying in the air.

You are a warrior. Your mission is to fly the arrow toward the target of Jesus. These arrows are a gift from God. They will not be put to shame.
