Disruption: Prevailing Purpose
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. (PROVERBS 19:21 NIV)
In life, the only constant is change. And as confident as some may seem, none of us really know what God has in store. No matter how successful or spiritual we are, and no matter how accustomed we’ve grown to living for God, we’ll never fully know every aspect of our purpose—not while we’re in this container called the human body.
Walking with God is a never-ending adventure—one where we never stop discovering how He’s handcrafted us in His unlimited image. Purpose can’t be contained. Plus, God isn’t seeking to give us certainty and results alone. He is first seeking to give us connection and relationship.
In order to get us into alignment with our divine assignment, God will allow disruption into our lives. To be clear, disruption is an unexpected, inconvenient moment—an interruption necessary for course correction. These are life-altering and defining events. While disruption may seem like punishment, it’s really an invitation for realignment. Disruption is designed to reposition us, elevate us, and propel us into stronger, wiser, and more anointed versions of ourselves.
How might God be using disruption to realign your plans for His greater purpose?
Pray:
Lord, give me enough courage to embrace the changes I do not desire or understand. I want what You want. May Your purpose prevail over my preferences. Amen.
