The Worship Project Devotional Series

DAY 1 OF 6

Whatever May Come

Our whole family was so excited about the release of my movie, “I Still Believe". It was scheduled to be in over 3,000 theaters. As we had been leading up to release weekend for over two years, little did we know the world would be facing a global pandemic and it would be the same weekend the president would order all theaters to be shut down due to the spread of the virus, as well as the cancellation of all tours. Our life came to a screeching halt! We had so many unanswered questions, scrambling last-minute to try to figure out what to do and how to handle the whole situation. We were shell shocked, to say the least. It had been such an incredible journey, but definitely not an easy one.

On Monday morning after the weekend, I was feeling really down. Usually, Adrienne tries to encourage me, but even she was quiet and knew I needed time alone with the Lord. Neither one of us could make sense of all that was happening, not unlike the rest of the world.

I found myself having to live out the theme of the movie all over again, ‘Even when I don’t see, even when I don’t understand—I still believe.’

I poured my heart out to Lord and almost immediately He gave me a song. These words started flooding into my heart.

“Whatever I face, whatever the fear, whatever the cost—You always draw near. Whatever the pain, whatever may come, whatever may fall—Your love overcomes. For every heartbreak, you will hold me.”

As I surrendered all my questions and disappointments to the Lord, He filled my heart with hope. It reminds me of Psalm 139, “Where can I go from your presence, if I go up to heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in Sheol you’re there. If I live at the eastern horizon or settle at the western limits, even there your hand will lead me; your right hand will hold on to me.” (CSB)

I realized I had a choice in my trials to truly trust God, even when I don’t always understand His methods, and learn to seek Him despite what is going on around me. During quarantine, I realized that instead of just doing what we can to get through quarantine, but we need to allow the Lord to let quarantine get through to us.

Psalm 139:23 says, “Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.”

Romans 8:38-39 says:

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

No matter what you’re going through, whatever may come, remember there is nothing that can separate you from the Father’s love.

Day 2

About this Plan

The Worship Project Devotional Series

While social distancing, Jeremy and Adrienne Camp have discovered solace in worship. They’ve found that music continues to give peace and reassurance. This feeling prompted them to write songs that resulted in The Worship Project. Jeremy and Adrienne merged their gifts to create a body of work that’s primed for this season of waiting. Join the Camps as they explore these themes and share devotionals inspired by the songs.
