10 Steps Ahead: A Growth Devotional with Adia PetersonSample
Desire The Greater Thing
One of my favorite verses comes from Psalm 27:4 KJV. In it, David says, "One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple".
Sometimes in the day-to-day, we have so much competing for our attention! But it's so important that we remember God is our most valuable treasure. David was saying I'm ready to push all of my desires aside to pursue what really matters: time spent with the Lord.
As we're wrapping up this last day of devotions, I challenge you to think about how you spend your time. What you choose to do with the time that you have, reflects what you value! So take a moment to observe where your time goes and if there needs to be more room for God, don't make any excuses, just make a change.
When we give God priority, we win. Determine to give God special space in your schedule. Let Him know through your actions that you want and need Him in your life. There are many things that we desire and want to pursue and there is nothing wrong with that! But let's make sure we seek the greater thing above everything else.
You're 10 Steps Closer
There are few things in life sweeter than crossing a finish line!! You committed to doing a daily devotion and giving God an opportunity to speak into your life in a special way. Keep going from here, don’t look back! While you may be finished with this plan, there is so much more life in God to conquer and live.
Make it your mission to study your bible, pray, and perfect your worship. God is worth it, and He believes in what He placed on the inside of you.
