Feast of Trumpets: His Victory and Return

The Feast of Trumpets prepared for the Day of Atonement and announced the voice of God and His mighty power in times of warfare, gatherings, and coronations. When the feast was eaten, the people knew they were eating victory, that nothing was impossible with God, and that they could be free from anything.

In the Old Testament, we see that the ram’s horn was very important, serving as a blueprint of Jesus’ victory over our lives. The Feast of Trumpets occurred in the fall directly after Pentecost. Every feast began with the blowing of the shofar (the trumpet), then the people would feast on who God was, giving them a revelation of their true Messiah.

The blowing of the trumpets goes all the way back to Abraham when he was about to offer Isaac as a sacrifice, but God provided a ram instead. That’s the first time we see the ram’s horn. Then we see it again when the Israelites went into Jericho. 

The greatest Feast of Trumpets will be when Jesus comes back and we are all caught up to be with Him in heaven. As the trumpets were blown for the coronation of a king, so the trumpets will again sound when the King of Kings comes to reign forever!
