7 Signs of Walking in the Holy SpiritSample
When the Holy Spirit came upon Saul, he went to war alongside Samuel. The king partnered with the prophet. They had a great relationship as long as Saul was walking in the Holy Spirit. When Saul started to disobey the Lord, it disheartened Samuel greatly and created friction in their relationship. Saul started to have authority issues.
We can’t walk in anointing and oppose authority at the same time. Compare David with Saul. David who was full of the Holy Spirit submitted to his father who sent him to deliver food to his brothers on the battlefield. David didn’t go to fight Goliath; he went to run an errand for his dad. Upon arrival, he heard the giant mocking God’s almighty name and consequently asked Saul for permission to fight the giant. David honored flawed authority like Saul’s enough to ask him for permission. Although David became famous in Israel and had opportunities to do to his enemy whatever he wanted to do, he never raised his hand to kill Saul who had been anointed by the prophet Samuel. David was also anointed and had a calling to fulfill, but Saul made his life a living hell. One time David, quietly under the cover of darkness, cut off a part of Saul's garment to make a point that he did not intend to hurt him. But even that act of cutting off a small piece of Saul’s robe brought conviction in David’s tender heart. David honored authority even when authority didn’t honor him. That is a mark of a life full of the Holy Spirit. Saul had problems with authority after he no longer was walking in the Holy Spirit.
We are to team up with authority instead of fighting against them. Honoring the authorities reveals that we honor the Holy Spirit. Remember, we can’t walk in authority if we rebel against authority.
Let’s pray together.
Holy Spirit, replace the darkness within me with Your gentle light.

About this Plan
All Christians have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, but not all Christians have intimacy with Him. There is a difference between a relationship and intimacy. A relationship with the Holy Spirit comes through salvation. However, intimacy only comes through the surrender of our lives to the Holy Spirit.
