DAY 1: WE HAVE A REASON TO FEAR NOT!

In times where there is no certainty and when we are given a million reasons to be fearful — even to the point that we are nervous about where to get toilet paper from — we need to make a choice to stand solidly on the promises contained in the Bible and specifically today, in this verse. Say it over and over again, to remind yourself of the truth: Don’t fear, God’s with us! 

God is not a parent that says ‘don’t’ without giving a reason why or how. He doesn’t just say. ‘because I said so’. No! Here in this verse, He gives you a reason for not fearing; clear, outlined and strong.

Don’t fear or be dismayed because:

·      He is with you
·      He is your God
·      He will strengthen you
·      He will help you
·      He will uphold you with His righteous right hand

The declarations in these scriptures are strong: I am with you. No condition, straight fact, I’m with you! He will not leave you at this time, you are not alone. Your God is walking you through this, so don’t be afraid. Then, the next promise: I am your God. Not a mere human, but God, Creator of the universe, Everlasting Father, totally in control! And there is more: I will strengthen you, a declaration of help when you need it most when you are afraid. He is an action God, not just talk, but He helps you, strengthens you! 

Now, I know the next verse (He will uphold you with His righteous right hand) can seem a bit culturally distant for us, so let me show you in the Message Bible:

Don’t panic. I’m with you.    
There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.
I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.   
I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.

He has a firm grip on you! Don’t panic! Stand on these promises today!
