DAY 4 OF 5

Living in Two Worlds

Today let's discover that as we follow Jesus, we become part of His Kingdom.

A kingdom is a country or an area that is ruled by a king. When we submit our lives to God and make Him the king of our lives, we become part of God’s kingdom. God’s kingdom doesn’t always make sense to the rest of the world. In the kingdom of God some things seem like they are back to front or upside down. Here's some examples....... Jesus said that in His kingdom the first will be last and the last will be first. He said that whoever wanted to be great would have to be a servant, and that it is more blessed to give than to receive. In the world we live in now,  people want to be first, not last, people want to be great, not servants. They want to get, not give, So God’s kingdom seems upside down. That’s the amazing thing about it. In God’s kingdom, if you put Him first in your life, you’ll never come second.

When you travel to another country, you need a passport. A passport is a document that identifies you as being a citizen of your country when you’re travelling overseas. Your passport has a photo of you, your name, birth date and other important details. While you’re travelling in a foreign land, you are like a representative of the country you're from. As Christians, we're part of God’s kingdom and we represent His Kingdom to the world. How we live shows others what God’s Kingdom is like. As citizens of the Kingdom of God, we are His representatives. As we follow Jesus, we become part of His Kingdom.
