This song was sent to me by my good friend and amazing songwriter, Jordan Frye. I connected to it immediately. As a worship leader you learn that songs have to be more than singable and catchy. They need to be saying something that we, the Church, need to sing—to touch that spot in our soul where we must shout and cry out to the Lord, and in faith, declare who He is and His heart for humanity. This song did all of those things in me when I first heard it. 

As believers I think we are to take a stand as bringers of hope who declare and pray over our homes, workplaces and cities that God would come and fill up the sky. In other words, like Jesus taught us to pray, that His kingdom come, and His will be done on earth as in heaven. 

I’m a firm believer that revelation leads to transformation which should lead to reformation. Simply, we have a role to play in God’s rescue plan. We’re only halfway there if we just realize that God’s heart is to see the world saved. We must let our love, faith, and hope spill out to the world around us. God allows our lives to reach out to others and point them to Jesus. What an honor!  

I’ll never forget the three-year period I worked at a hotel in Northern California. The environment was anything but Christ-centered—quite the opposite, really. After many months of praying—mostly complaining to God about the job—He reminded me that I was there to be a light in a dark place. It changed my attitude completely. The environment didn’t drastically change overnight, but for the first time I knew I could be a part of making it better. I could let the love of Christ move through me to those around me. 

Today ask yourself, who are the people God has placed in front of me to love, to pray for, and to display Christ to? 

How might my love, prayers and worship impact the world around me?
