Truth I'm Standing On: Leanna CrawfordSample
Day 5: Stand On Hope
Have you ever thought about how the disciples felt the night Jesus was crucified? After Jesus whispered, “It is finished,” the world went dark. Yet, we call this day ‘Good Friday’ because we know what is coming on Sunday. But could you imagine being one of the disciples? They had no idea. They were afraid it was over. They scattered, were hopeless, and were at a loss on what to do next. But God was painting a bigger picture; they just couldn’t see it yet.
Just like the disciples, we all go through trials and wonder where God is amidst the pain. What if God is using your season of feeling stuck, your season of fear, your season of hopelessness for something bigger than you could ever imagine?
I have good news for you. Your story isn’t over; it isn’t ending on this season of hard. God, is in fact, using your chapters of heartache and pain and making something beautiful. There is purpose in the season and because of this, we can have hope!
Whenever you feel hopeless, take some time to think about all the times in the past that God used the difficult circumstances to grow you and bring you closer to Him. He didn’t abandon you then, and He’s not going to leave you now. Remember, He is working in and through every circumstance, creating a plan much more beautiful than you could ever imagine.
Reflection and Prayer:
Are you feeling hopeless in this season? Ask God to give you perseverance through this season of dark and uncertainty, and for Him to remind you to stand on His promise of hope.

I wonder what other ground you’ve tried standing on only to be disappointed it was sinking sand. Finances? Relationships? Opinions of others?
