"But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander." Matthew 15:18-19

"Jesus turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men.'" Matthew 16:23

Let us not extinguish the favor of God in our lives with an undisciplined tongue and destructive thoughts. Be mindful of the things that you say. Your words have the power to create or destroy, and what you speak will paint the picture of your life. 

Have you ever seen someone try to put toothpaste back into the tube? It can't happen. Similarly, once words are spoken, they can't be retracted. There is no "undo" button for hurtful words. Fortunately, Jesus redeems and restores, but it would have been easier if it hadn't ever happened.

We've been given self-control to purpose to be positive. Guard your heart and set your mind on things above and pave the way for favor to flow into your life from the words of your mouth. Be intentional about what you say today and watch how God will use it for your good!
