LIVING IN THE FEAR OF THE LORD 

The restoration of the Israelites’ hearts was the historic key how Jerusalem was rebuilt after destruction period. The same thing could be applied in all aspects of our lives as well. Without the heart’s restoration, we will not be able to receive the things that have been promised by God. This restoration must happen every day and this can only happen if we live in daily repentance. Living in daily repentance will only happen if we choose to humble ourselves before the Lord.

God defends those whose lives are pleasing to Him, but He opposes the proud. People whose lives please the Lord are those who make Jesus as the center of their lives.

The Lord will tell His secrets to those who fear God and humble themselves before Him. To fear the Lord does not mean that we think of Him as a scary God, or that God is a scary God because of His punishment. This refers to the attitudes that honor the holiness of God, so that we do not do useless things in our lives. If we humble ourselves before the Lord, He will lift us up. This is the attitude of people who fear the Lord and honor Him in all of their works.

The godliness of life is not only about good deeds that we do to many people. It is about loving God more than anything else. Wherever we are, let the fear of the Lord be found in us.
