Judgment Seat of ChristSample
The Great White Throne of Judgment
Scripture teaches that one day both believers and unbelievers will be raised from the dead and they will all be judged (Daniel 12:2; John 5:28-29; 4:15). But those who never received God’s gift of salvation in Christ will be raised specifically to a resurrection of damnation. They will appear before the Great White Throne, be judged for their wicked deeds, and cast into the lake of fire (Revelation 20:13-15). This judgment is the ultimate act of God’s justice, conclusively judging those who refused to believe. But it is also an act of mercy toward creation, as God forever cleanses the earth of sin.
On that day even our deepest secrets will be spread out in judgment,(Romans 2:16), and unbelievers will give an account of their lives just as Numbers 32:23 assures us, “be sure your sin will find you out,” (KJV). There is coming a day, my friend when all the sins not covered by the blood of Jesus will be exposed. In fact, the Bible tells us that, in that day, men will crawl under the rocks and ask the mountains to fall on them to hide them from “the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb” (Rev. 6:16, NIV). That day is coming, and for many, it is bad news. For if their sins aren’t covered by the blood of Jesus, they will follow them to the judgment.
