Destroying Fear: A Five-Day Devotional Sample

Destroying Fear: A Five-Day Devotional

DAY 4 OF 5

You Have 30 Seconds to Choose

The enemy wants to steal your mind and focus. Believe it or not, it takes only one thought and one opportunity. As believers, the first thing we must understand about spiritual warfare is that the mind is a territory, a place. Whoever controls this territory controls our will, thoughts, and emotions to move us either forward or backward. The enemy likes to imbed his thoughts in our minds. From there, he can attack our souls. For that reason, we must guard our minds with the Word of the Lord.

Do not surrender your mind or your thoughts to Satan. I will show you how to deal with fear face-to-face. When the devil is trying to grip you with fear and bombard your mind with fearful thoughts, you have thirty seconds to cast down that thought and make up your mind about what you are going to believe. You do this by renouncing fear and cursing it to the root, uprooting the fear out of you, and then filling that void with the Word of God or a praise song.

Fear does not have the last word. It does not have to dictate your tomorrows. You can be set free because Jesus Christ holds your tomorrows. There is victory in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Declare This throughout Your Day: I will not listen to and I will not obey the lies of the enemy. And I will proclaim the blessings of the Lord upon my life.

Reflection Questions: How comfortable are you with renouncing fear in your life? Does it feel sometimes as if fear has the mastery over you? What do you think Jesus would say to you?

Day 3Day 5

About this Plan

Destroying Fear: A Five-Day Devotional

There is a reason why Jesus commands His children throughout Scripture not to worry. Fear is crippling, and it crowds out the voice of our Savior. The devil knows this and uses fear to keep us from walking in freedom. It is time to give the demon of fear an eviction notice. Shake off the paralyzing voice of fear and build your faith with new conviction.
