Do You See This Woman?Sample
Devotional:
Do You See This Woman?
As a woman, have you ever felt invisible, unheard, or unneeded? Have you ever wondered how Jesus sees you?
In this study, we’ll examine face-to-face encounters Jesus had with six different women in the Bible. We’ll see that while each of these women faced very different sets of challenges and circumstances, Jesus saw them and gave each of them what they needed.
As we learn their individual stories, we’ll discover that they aren’t so different from you and me. They experienced many of the same struggles we face today. They suffered heartache, shame, rejection, and isolation. They were misunderstood, marginalized, and stuck in sin cycles they couldn’t seem to escape from. These women knew they needed a savior, and Jesus met them in their need.
The powerful encounters these women shared with Jesus left them transformed. He welcomed them right where they were, but He didn’t leave them there. Jesus saw their heart, potential, and divine purpose. He showed each of these women the way to a new life and empowered them to live in His freedom—just as He does for us today.
We can easily get bogged down with the worries and hardships of this world. But like these women, when we meet with Jesus, we find exactly what we’re looking for. In a world where we can feel invisible, Jesus gives us a safe place to turn.
Know this: You’re not alone. You are loved and desired. Jesus sees you, rescues you, empowers you, frees you, enlightens you, and comforts you with His eternal presence.
Let’s discover the transforming power of the God who sees.
Reflect:
- When have you felt invisible?
- How do you think God sees you?
