INHERITANCE OF FAITH
What is the most valuable inheritance we can bequeath to our children? We can pass on our wealth and money to our children. But what is the value of giving our children the abundance of wealth without having a fear of God? The most important inheritance we can bequeath to our children is the life example of a strong faith. This inheritance is much more valuable than gold, silver, or jewellery.
The life of Jacob was impacted a lot from his ancestors, Abraham and Isaac. Jacob saw the lives his father and his grandfather lived in faith and followed their example. Jacob bequeathed his faith to his children.
The life journey of Jacob and Joseph is a picture of our spiritual journey. How Joseph was treated badly by his brothers and thrown into the well, sold as a slave, was a slave in Egypt, was accused wrongly and sent to jail for something he didn’t do. And even Joseph was forgotten by Pharaoh’s chief butler that promised to help him. That was a long process before Joseph was promoted by God to be second person after King of Egypt.
In the same way we experience processes in our lives. Sometimes we are brought down and neglected, accused and forgotten. We may also experience failure and defeat. But like Joseph, do not give up. Instead, face all the challenges in life.
The main key to is to raise up from the fall, to humble ourselves before God asking strength from Him to enable us to look forward, to gaze upon God’s glorious call. God is able to restore and raise us up.
Do not stay in your trouble, instead raise up with FAITH in CHRIST.
