How to Overcome Worry

DAY 6 OF 6

The importance of today (1)

Many people in the world think too much about a future which has not yet happened. On the other hand, many people are too concerned about what has happened in their past, especially the failures.

Failure is one of the greatest teachers in life. It is always ready to teach us something as long as we are not destroyed by it. History is filled with stories of people who had nearly gained something truly valuable but gave up too soon. As long as our spirit is still alive, there is always hope.

When we have dreams which we believe with all our hearts, we need to stay the course. Sometimes we just have to try one more time, another month, another year, or in some cases make another visit that might open the door to success. So many people fail because they don't know how close they are to success when they give up.

There is a saying "Write your plans in pencil, but write your vision and dreams in ink." This teaches us to be flexible and willing to change our own plans because we believe that God will guide the path to our dreams when we surrender our dreams to Him.

All dreams must have a beginning and a follow through. Books that have never been written will never be in the bestseller list. A useful product will not be known if the prototype is never completed. A relationship will never develop or be improved if there is no effort. Too many people are waiting for everything to be perfect before they start something. The best way to have success in life now, and in the future, is to take the first step TODAY with the Lord!

Reflection

1. Do you have dreams? How big is your dream and how sure are you that you can  achieve it?

2. Have you surrendered your life, dreams, and all your plans to God?

Put it into practice: Let us surrender our dreams and plans to God TODAY, then He will act!

Day 5

About this Plan

How to Overcome Worry

Worry is the enemy of faith. Worry can close our eyes of faith, allowing depression and defeat to come into believers’ lives. God provides His word so that every believer can overcome every worry and replace it with a story of victory. Through this "Walking with Jesus" devotional, may all of us have greater faith and are enabled to drive out every worry with the power of His word.
