Repent And Be ConvertedSample
Shall We Continue In Sin?
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” Romans 6:1-2 KJV
When you are in Christ, you are set free from the imprisonments of the past. As a new creature in Christ, you do not have to surrender to the chains of the past. When you repent, your tastes, carnal desires and old lifestyle is crushed in Christ — He redeems you. When you repent, your appetite transforms in Him. Choose to turn to Him. Let the old man die and be renewed in Christ.
James 4:7 KJV declares, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Submerge yourself in His Word daily. Spend time with Him. Let God teach you His Ways. Let God lead and direct your path. Proverbs 26:11 KJV declares, “As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.” Proverbs 26:11 NLT also declares, “As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness.” When you are in Christ, you don’t have to repeat the foolishness of the past.
When you are in Christ, you don’t have to return to the old way of doing things. You don’t have to turn back. Remember Lot’s wife? “Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.” Genesis 19:24-26 KJV. Don’t turn back to the sin that God has overthrown. Choose to look forward in Him. Walk forward in your newness of life in Christ. He gives you a renewed heart, one that reflects His Heart and Character. Walk forward. Don’t look back. Focus only on Him.
“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11 KJV. Choose to put away childish and foolish things. Maturity is a choice. When you are in Christ, you have the power to put away childish things. Choose to let the old and immature things go. Put away childish and spiritually immature ways.
Freedom is a choice. Entanglement is a choice. Bondage is a choice. Surrender your heart to Christ and let God lead and guide your path. “When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; now that I have become a man, I am done with childish ways and have put them aside.” 1 Corinthians 13:11 AMPC
