21 Days To A Teenager’s Spiritual Change

DAY 12 OF 21

Love Your Church

Maybe you think that your church isn't perfect. Maybe you don't like some aspects of it. Maybe you don't even understand some things. Okay! But consider the fact that it is a church that was founded by Jesus Christ, and He led you to this place because He wanted to have you in that congregation!

Jesus wants to have you in the Church! He wants you to be with the people who are scholars, as well as the ones who are uneducated. He wants you to sit in one row with the orphans and the victims, but also with the popular kids. He wants you to praise Him with those that are younger and older than you and with the rebels and the humble.

You need to understand that when Jesus said He would build the Church, He didn't mean a group of perfect people without any flaws in their character. He rather meant the Church where there are weak people and sinners, who would be constantly changed. Jesus said that He would build the Church because it was His dream to create a space where a person can encounter holiness. The space where the sinner can be washed of his or her faults and reach the fullness of moral, as well as spiritual perfection. It is all about the Church that is so full of God that the sinners come to holiness. Do you know the place where Jesus called you?

We need to realize that the Church is as healthy as its members. That's why it is time to start the change with you, say sorry to some people, and forgive others. Maybe today is the time to become honest, loyal, and responsible to people from your church? If there is anything that stops you from healthy, godly relationships and the Holy Spirit shows it to you, follow His lead. Do it for the sake of yourself and the Church.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank you for my church, my spiritual family that you gave me. Help me love this church and help me get involved in it. Thank you, that I can be a part of your Church. Amen.

Challenge: Think what you could do in or for your church. Ask God that He would show you what you could do, except for the things that you already do. And then talk about your ideas with your youth leader or pastor. Try to set the example. What about coming to the meetings a bit earlier and staying a little longer than usual? Support your church and its’ leadership by your involvement and help, be the encouragement. Trust me, when you do it, you will fall in love with your church.
