Victorious Power

DAY 4 OF 7

The Norm

Galatians 2:20

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

As we saw in Day One, God’s plan all along has been to ultimately indwell His people. And through that indwelling give you, moment by moment, His power to live a life beyond anything you could imagine. And even more than that, it gives God the ability to actually live His life through you. This is a transformative truth that if you understand it, will radically change your life.

As Paul states in the passage above, God is not just dwelling in you, to provide access to Him, but He has taken up residence in you in order to actually live through you. To empower you.

Just think about that for a moment.  The eternal, all-powerful God wants to live through you. The God whose wisdom knows no bounds wants to live through you. The God who never errs… never makes a mistake… wants to live through you. The God who loves you perfectly and knows exactly what is best for you wants to live through you. The God of perfect peace wants to live through you.

Why wouldn’t you want that? What would hold you back?

 Unbelief.

You see, Paul tells us above that the key to unleashing the life of God in you is faith. Or to put it another way, the only thing that blocks God from living through you is failing to entrust your life to Him. If you will trust Him with your life, you will give Him the ability to guide, empower, enlighten and direct your life with His perfect wisdom, power, knowledge and understanding.

What an incredible thought! But the key is faith. Entrusting your life wholly to Him.

God desires whole-hearted devotion. He wants your whole heart. Full trust. In Matthew 22:34-37, when asked about the greatest of the commandments, Jesus says: Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. God doesn’t want just some of your heart. He wants it all. God wants a people who are sold out to Him.

In 2 Chronicles 16:9 this truth is brought into stark relief as we are told, For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

God wants your full faith and trust. And notice that God acts on the whole-hearted faith of His people. Which is exactly Paul’s point. Christ is now living in you and the key to Him living fully through you is your trust in Him. Will you do that today?

About this Plan

Victorious Power

We’ve all heard that the Holy Spirit dwells within us after we’re saved. But have you ever stopped to think about how powerful that makes you? In ‘Seven Days to Victorious Power,’ business owner and author Rick Dunham thoughtfully explains what it really means to be “filled with the Holy Spirit” and how He wants to do extraordinary things through you. And the only requirement is that you trust Him!
