Everyone. Everywhere. Part 1Sample
Looking Inward: In the hustle of everyday life, we often forget the importance of solitude and silence alone with our Father. Throughout the Gospels, we see that Jesus consistently withdrew from the demands of ministry, people, and daily activities to be alone with the Lord. We all have a lot to learn from the ways Jesus pursued intimacy with His Father. He approached God in solitude praying and asking God to use Him- with His disciples, with His ministry, and even as He prepared for His death on the cross.
As followers of Christ, we desire to have intimacy like Jesus had with the Father and to be used by Him. We have all been given today to seek the Lord, and not only that but PRAY that the Lord would use us. Jesus invites us into this. Let us prioritize time alone with the Lord, and pray expectantly that God would use us in the lives of others this summer—no matter where we are!
- Questions:
- What would it look like for you this summer to regularly “withdraw” from daily life and spend time in solitude with the Lord?
- When is a time in your schedule each day of the week that you can plan to spend time with God in silence?
- Prayer: God, I pray in faith, asking that you would use me this summer. Whatever that looks like, I ask that you would make it so clear. God, I desire to walk by your Holy Spirit daily. I pray that the first thing on my mind when I wake up, and the last thing on my mind before I sleep, is you. Lord, would my desires be completely aligned with yours!
